What is EXIF data?

EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) metadata stores details such as GPS coordinates, camera model, lens info, timestamps, and software used to edit an image. When photos are shared online this data can accidentally expose private information about where you live or work. The OneImage EXIF remover cleans this metadata in your browser while keeping visual quality intact.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about removing hidden metadata from your photos.

What kinds of metadata are removed?

We remove GPS location, camera make and model, lens details, exposure information, timestamps, software identifiers, and any additional EXIF or XMP metadata that can reveal private information.

Will the cleaned image lose quality?

No. Images are re-encoded at high quality so the visual result matches the original. Only the metadata container is stripped.

Does this work with HEIC photos?

Yes. We use an EXIF parser that understands modern HEIC and HEIF files. During cleaning the photos are converted to high quality JPEGs without metadata.

Is everything processed locally?

Yes. Both the metadata parsing and removal run in your browser. Files are never uploaded to a server.

Can I process multiple files at once?

Absolutely. Add as many files as you need, review their metadata, and download the cleaned results individually or together.

Can I keep some metadata?

For now the tool removes all metadata to guarantee privacy. Partial metadata preservation is on our roadmap.
